They were stringing up loads of christmas lights over a bridge in Lincoln yesterday so I stopped and asked the woman clearly in charge (leaning on her mental shovel and puffing an imaginary fag) whether or not they were LED lights - complete puzzlement - "no" she finally said "they were just the ordinary ones" there were obviously going to be hundreds and hundreds of the things - think, BRIDGE....what to do, what to do...?
Well - you could write in to Lincoln Council or get your MP on the case?
It's great to start asking the questions though! Keep up the good work.

Saw this and thought of you. (love it when that happens and the link is to toilet cleaner recipes... S)

Thought you might like to know that the evil empire of Tesco's sells Belu - got quite excited when i saw it on display yesterday - maybe they are changing..........
Maybe. They do some good things.
But I remain unconvinced.
Corporate watch aren't great fans. Check their site out for details of how they push food prices below realistic rates and aggressively break into markets here and abroad.

Check out this video and blog. People wonder what's wrong with buying a 4x4?

Pretty funny. Thank you.

What has happened - is this another plot to save energy/the whale/the world?? What happend to friday's 'daily' - it was missing. I searched everywhere, including under the bed and it was definately missing - has the 4 day week come back (see history of the 70's) or are you just getting lazy? Surely not. Anyhow, i want a daily, DAILY and I would also appreciate you reading and printing this letter so that I know you have taken what I say on board.
Nice to be in demand.
Apologies - (for the full story please check out today's Daily!)
There are only three of us who put things on the site though and so occassionally we do have a couple of problems. We try to update things regularly to keep the site interesting but please bear with us if we have a couple of misses every now and again.

(Re. letter below)
HOW DARE YOU, with reference to my missive about AT La, say it was from me - thought that all letters were unnamed - this is a disgraceful infringement of some right or other that i have under the ego-tripping beaurocratic rulings from our masters in whitehall - it must be, there are so many of them...from now on, via this page, i will comment on all spelling, syntax, punctuation and poorly constructed phrases until you cease mangling the english language.
I would also like to add that the writer that wants all illegal immigrants to be immediately deported seems a trifle harsh - perhaps we should just automatically deport all convicted criminals - not for spitting in the streets or littering just imprisonable offences - understand this was the usual form until fairly recently - on second thoughts keep in the spitting/littering - did you know that in turkmenistan it is an offence to smoke outside ? perfectly okay indoors tho' - you see it is true, you learn something new every day.....
Yet still the writer (who I shall not name...) has not put capital I's.
My grammar and spelling isn't great I know - and I apologise. Really though I blame my parents for not teaching me properly....
; - )

good grief - ridicule AT La - where were you born ? some strange little country in mittel europe ? where did you pick up your english - i have been suspicious for some time....ridicule La, (if you must) but you can't ridicule AT her....
That was from my mother! Who has a point. But doesn't use capital letters at the beginning of any of her sentences!!! xxxxx

Have you seen this?
Oh it is brilliant! (Basically a site where you can give away things you no longer need and get things someone else no longer needs... ebay for free.)

I've just found a interesting website about Maccers:
http://www.makeupyourownmind.co.uk/
They're a really caring organisation, reading their site actually brought me to tears a few times. I think it's really unfair the bad rap they get.
And get this... they're not to blame for the UK's obesity epidemic. It turns out that if people don't want to get fat they should just eat less and exercise more. Who would have thought?
Eating less and exercising you say - wow McDonald's is smart and clever.
Actually there does seem to be a lot more healthy Maccy D's advertising at the minute but so there shuld be! According to http://www.mcspotlight.org/ they spend $2 billion per year on advertising. The world is a crazy place indeed.
I have to say that after reading 'Fast Food Nation' my opinion of Maccers has changed somewhat since last week (damn their corporate propaganda!). I really don't feel comfortable about the whole 'faecal matter in the hamburger patties' thing...
But I still think the fatties should go out for a jog now and then.
PC as ever...
I've just posted a question on their website asking about the faecal matter issue... I await their response with baited breath.
Ha ha - me too! Let us know.

This is more of a suggestion than a letter but I would like to propose your site invite readers to start a petition for the UK government to adopt the same law the US recently passed to make all illegal immigrants criminals and arrest them then deport them. Otherwise whats the point of using the word illegal if it implies nothing.
Let me know what you think?
Hmmm gonna have to let you take this one on. I am ashamed to say it is not something I know much about.
However - debate and political engagement should certainly encouraged so if you want to get something started you could do it yourself with a bit of help from www.gopetition.co.uk

Check it out. Carrots used to be purple till the Dutch decided to colour them orange as it is their national colour.

Should we eat purple?
Erm - anyone...?

Just want to pass on this handy hint - don't use your tumble dryer (it beats the hell out of clothes - and just because you can put the fluff out for birds to use in their nest-making is not a good reason to use this expensive way to dry clothes).
Hang your washing inside your vehicle and it will dry beautifully using just the sun - brilliant or what?
I use it for all items except smalls as I don't want to inflame the populace - it really works.
Or be really retro and hang up a line - the smell of dried washing after a windy day outside is wonderful.
Ha ha - I think driving round with your pants plastering the inside of the car sounds very amusing.
Though technically we should be cycling with them drying in the wind off the back...

This would beat the pants off your c5!

Nah - it's pretty cool but nowhere close to the C5!!!!!

Stopping to walk the dogs in a wood near Coldstream the other day I spotted a BLACK squirrel - now I know about grey squirrels (vermin) red squirrels (nice) but BLACK?? any squirrel experts out there - I am intrigued.......
Sadly I can not class myself as a squirrel expert but I did a quick search. The Forestry Commission think that they are:
"grey squirrels with high levels of the black pigment melanin in their hair"
But there are more sinister stories too...
In Russia black squirrels hunt in packs (beware for your dogs!) and in the US there are fears that world domination is afoot...

You've gotta laugh ... the US version of The Apprentice has partnered Chevy, to promote their new gas guzzling 4x4.
Foolishly, they've made it possible for us all to make an online advert for their new beast.
So now it's possible for you to say what you've always wanted about 4x4's and share it with the world.
Check out these two for inspiration.
Not quite what Chevy wanted: one
Still not really the plan: two
Try your own here.
Hilarious - thank you. Love it!

You should check out Metro. Selfridges are apparently making an £85 beef sandwich from beef flown in daily from Chile. Completely nuts and horrible and not very air miles friendly!
That is insanity. Check out the article here.

Does anyone know of an ethical/organic choc. co. that does simply gorgeous chocs. in decent boxes (obviously re-cycled cardboard) to give/receive on special occasions - and NOT just chocs with sickly gooey fillings - please advise.
Divine is an utterly delicious fair trade chocolate but for something with even more glitz and glamour you could try Montezumas or Hotel Chocolat both of whom make a point of incorporating ethical policies into their chocolate making.
Hmmmmm - chocolate....
Enjoy.

This is a big file but it’s bloody awesome!
Indeed it is. Check out a bit of Store Wars.
Bit of a cheesy ending but otherwise hilarious! Watch it.
Thanks for sending that in Colin x

"I wish to write to the editor of thisisnotmy and I find I can't - you don't seem to have an address for this facility and believe me I have tried loads of permutations. I think that a 'letters page' would be a VERY GOOD THING particularly to point out that you do not spell chaos, choas or in fact kaos or any other way."
Apologies - I may occasionally forget to spell check... Also, while we are at it, apologies as well for my dire use of apostrophe's!
Anyhow - one letters page now provided - feel free to write in x
