Ahhh it is Valentines Day again.

Lovers whisper sweet nothings to one another, hands are held on moon-lit evenings, there is candle light... and a distressing pressure to arrange the perfect night / buy lots of presents!!!
But never fear - for we are here to help with loves young dream.
If - of course - loves young dream happens to have a bit of a concern about avoiding companies with bad employment records and unsustainable business practises...

If only extortion looked so lovely at all times. If you are going to buy flowers bear in mind that most are imported and grown using an abundance of pesticides. |

The Night Out
The trickiest part - if only as a bad date can last so, painfully, long!
Personally - I would stay in - it's cheap, you can cook a lovely, organic, locally produced feast and you can sneak off to bed early... |
but then the last Valentines day meal I attempted ended in tears and a pizza takeaway - so what do I know!
If you want to head out then why not try one of the restaurants in our directory?
Or, if you are single and don't have much luck on the big day itself, then why not try the Fun Fed's Flirt Feast on the 24th?
(Either that or do what some of my mates are plotting and avoid it all by heading to the Mecca bingo!)

Get some recycled card and get creating with those lurve poems. |
Better still - use recycled pictures and magazines to make it a zero impact creation.
(Though avoid cutting out the writing as you might look a bit like a crazed stalker...)

More traditionally - why not try chocolates, wine or trip to a gorgeous country cottage?
Or... an energy saving light bulb for the light of your life...?
