There's no place like home... |

With the handy household hints in the daily this week I thought that it might be a good time to have a think about the home.
It has actually been pretty great to be able to get out of my normal London existence for a while and to spend some time in the country.
Sometimes the pace of life can get so fast that how we live day to day gets ignored. But there are all sorts of really easy changes we can make to have a greener and cheaper home life.
Dissolving soda crystals in water takes half a minute less than bringing out the Cilit Bang (man - who came up with that name..), we can easily buy biodegradable bin liners if we hop on the Internet. We can even get cloths that attract dirt and need no washing liquid or cleaning sprays at all to get rid of the greasy grime in our kitchens and bathrooms.
It is just that we don't find them on our supermarket shelves.
Why not take 15 minutes to have a look round Nigel's Eco Store or pick up a few staples* next time you are out so that your cupboards are stocked with natural alternatives to bleach, drain cleaner, surface spray and varnish.
And - if you don't actually have a cupboard for all of these items why not check out the furniture section in the directory and get yourself a sustainably made one!
