Scrap? Design begs the question; “What is ‘scrap’?” We produce wonderfully creative furniture, lighting and accessories made from land fill destined items. So what is scrap?
Why it is environmentally or ethically beneficial to our planet?
Using items that would otherwise be land filled prevents precious materials being buried and lost to the environment where they can not be retrieved and can also be harmful, entering our water systems.
Re-using materials saves on the energy used to extract, process and transport new materials and is therefore more energy efficient. This also reduces green house gas emissions.
We use eco-friendly materials and processes where possible.
We don’t hide the fact we’re using ‘scrap’ in our designs, to the contrary we embrace it! We hope our funky creations raise public awareness of re-using and recycling and how important this is to the sustainability of our planet.
We know we’re not going to save the world but hopefully our products will get people thinking more about what they throw away, its impact on the environment and why it’s important to change our throw-it-away culture.
